Soybean oil is used in food products, such as salad dressings and mayonnaise, and industrial products such as plastics and bio-diesel. Ohio is ranked 6th in soybean production across the United States. The annual economic impact from soybean production in Ohio is $5.3 billion. There are 26,000 soybean farmers in Ohio.
